OUR PROGRAMMES
Age-appropriate futsal development programmes designed to help young players build their skills, confidence, decision making and understanding of the game.
Age-appropriate futsal development programmes designed to help young players build their skills, confidence, decision making and understanding of the game.
Our programmes are designed around the developmental needs of each age group.
Rather than using the same approach for every player, we progressively introduce new challenges as players develop their technical ability, decision making and understanding.
The aim is to create a clear development environment where players know that training is about learning, improving and enjoying the game.
THREE STAGES. ONE DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY.
Players move through Foundation, Development and Progression as they grow and develop.
Each programme has its own developmental focus while remaining connected to the wider Thunderbolts philosophy.

01
FOUNDATION
Players build fundamental technical skills, coordination, confidence and enjoyment. Sessions provide lots of opportunities to touch the ball and explore different solutions.
02
DEVELOPMENT
Players begin to connect their technical ability with decision making and game understanding. More emphasis is placed on space, movement, combinations and transitions.
03
PROGRESSION
Players are challenged to execute skills under pressure, recognise tactical situations and take greater responsibility for their decisions.
Futsal provides an environment where players can develop multiple areas of their game simultaneously.
01
Ball mastery, first touch, passing, receiving, dribbling, finishing and 1v1 ability.
02
Space, movement, attacking, defending, transitions and combination play.
03
Helping players recognise situations, process information and choose appropriate solutions.
04
Encouraging players to experiment, express themselves and find their own solutions.
05
Creating an environment where players feel comfortable attempting, learning and improving.
06
Developing players who can understand what is happening around them and influence the game.
PLAY
LEARN . DECIDE . APPLY
Our sessions aim to give players meaningful opportunities to practise and apply what they are learning.
Rather than separating every skill from the game, we aim to connect technical development with decision making and game situations.
01 Technical preparation
02 Individual and small-group practices
03 Decision-making challenges
04 Small-sided games
05 Reflection and learning
Players do not all develop at exactly the same speed. Our programmes provide a clear framework while allowing players to develop at their own pace.
STEP 01
Introduce new skills and concepts.
STEP 02
Develop consistency and confidence.
STEP 03
Use learning in realistic game situation.
